Marathi...... Where did it go?

I recollect some time back Maharashtra govt made it mandatory to have the names of the shops including malls in Marathi (in addition to English). Those who violated the rule, had their shops / establishments ransacked. Remember the Big Bazar incident in Mumbai or the J.M. Road incident in pune for the same? Some contradictory website which states that its the "MAHARASHTRA TOURISM, The Official Website of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, Govt. of India."

Check the home page and you will see what I mean, for those who dont have time to see it, it says

Skip Intro & go to
English Japanese

Japanese? No Marathi not even Hindi, aare yeh kya hai bhai? all preaching no practice?

Tip: Take care of your skin

Use an anti-bacterial soap and cleanser.
Wash you face with warm water and rinse dry with cold water. This is to close the pores after washing.
Always wear (at least an SPF 15 protective) sunscreen before stepping outside esp in the non monsoon weather. This helps prevent wrinkles in the future as well as fight against potential skin cancer.
Eat right. Stay away from foods that are high in saturated fats such as fried foods and those with processed ingredients.
Drink as much water as possible. It keeps your skin hydrated and moisturised.

Should you keep bananas in the fridge?

Many people have asked me Why banana should not be kept in fridge? Its pretty interesting finding the reason for not keeping the bananas in the fridge, there are infact a couple of reasons and some myths associated with the keeping of the bananas in the fridge.

Bananas emit a gas called ethylene, this gas actually hastens the process of riping.
Bananas do not ripe in cool temperatures unlike most other fruits which ripen (at a slower rate) under cool temperatures.
Banana skin becomes black when kept for long under cool temperatures

Thus bananas should not be kept in the fridge unless they are not ripe
They can be kept in the fridge once you want to preserve it for longer (after they are riped)
The skin gets black but internally they are good once peeled.
Ideally they should be wrapped in a plastic bag, ideally a zip lock bag (to prevent the ethylene gas from going out in the fridge and thus hastening the riping process for all the food items in the fridge.)

Tip: How to pevent and overcome jetlag

Jet Lag is when you change timezones too quickly. Below are some simple tips that you can take in order to overcome / prevent jetlag.

  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Avoid alcohol (hard to do so because they are free?)
  • Avoid caffeine based drinks
  • Get as much exercise as possible by stretching in your seat and walking up and down the plane
  • Adjusting your watch to the destination time to psychologically adjust
  • Once you arrive have a shower
  • Try to adapt to the new time zone as fast as possible by exposing yourself as much as you can to the sun to adjust to the new environment and staying up and going to bed at an appropriate time for the new time zone even if this means staying up
  • Travel westwards instead of eastwards, by doing so you are traveling with time and not against time. If you are traveling eastwards then make sure you have an eyeband or an eye cover so that you can fool yourself that its already night.
  • Sleep in the plane according to the destination time.

How bird flu spreads

A team of researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison has identified a key step that the H5N1 avian flu virus must take to facilitate its easy transmission from one person to another. Lead researcher Yoshihiro Kawaoka, a virologist at the UWMadison School of Veterinary Medicine, has revealed that a single change surface protein enables the H5N1 virus to settle into the upper respiratory system, which “may provide a platform for the adaptation of avian H5N1 viruses to humans and for efficient person-to-person virus transmission. The viruses that are in circulation now are much more mammalian-like than the ones circulating in 1997. The viruses that are circulating in Africa and Europe are the ones closest to becoming a human virus,” says Kawaoka, an internationally recognised authority on influenza. He said that though other currently undetermined changes are required for the virus to become a human pathogen of pandemic proportions, establishing itself in the upper respiratory system is necessary as that enables easy transmission of the virus through coughing and sneezing. The researchers involved two different avian viruses isolated from a single patient — one from the lungs and the other from the upper respiratory system — in the study.
They found that the virus from the upper respiratory system exhibited a single amino acid change in one of the key proteins for amplification of influenza virus genes. Kawaoka says that such a change promotes better virus replication at lower temperatures, such as those found in the upper respiratory system, and in a wider range of cell types.

Facts on cold

THE common cold is easily spread through the cold virus. Read answers to some questions about the common cold.
What is the difference between a cold and the flu?
Although the flu and the common cold are both respiratory illnesses, they are caused by different viruses. Because, they have similar symptoms, it can be difficult to tell them apart. Generally, cold symptoms are much milder than flu.
Why isn’t there a cold vaccine?
The common cold can be caused by nearly 250 different viruses. It’s just too difficult for scientists to prepare a vaccine that protects against all cold viruses. Also, there’s less need for a cold vaccine. Colds are minor infections of the throat, nose, and sinuses. They generally come and go with no serious complications. You’re miserable for a few days, then it’s over.
Could cold symptoms actually be allergies?
If you are sniffling, but not achy or feverish, you may very well have allergies. Also, if your symptoms last longer than two weeks, and you also have red, itchy eyes, the evidence points to allergies. However, it’s often hard to tell because people with allergies and asthma are more likely to get colds. They may already have inflamed and irritated lungs — so they are less able to fight off a cold virus.
What’s the best treatment for a cold?
There is no cure for the common cold. The most
important thing you can do is drink a lot of fluids to keep your body hydrated. This will help prevent another infection from setting in. Avoid drinks like coffee, tea, and colas with caffeine. They rob your system of fluids. As for eating, follow your appetite. If you’re not really hungry, try eating simple foods like white rice or broth. Chicken soup is comforting, plus the steam helps break up nasal congestion. Ginger seems to settle an upset stomach. A hot toddy may help you sleep, but beware of mixing alcohol with other cold remedies.
Over-the-counter cold medicines can offer relief from aches and fever. However, doctors no longer believe in suppressing lowgrade fever — except in very young and very old people, or those with certain medical conditions such as heart or lung disease. Lowgrade fever helps the body fight off infection by suppressing the growth of viruses or bacteria and by activating the immune system.

How effective are natural remedies like zinc and vitamin C?
Some studies show that zinc supplements help cut a cold’s severity and duration. But, other studies show that zinc is no more effective than placebo. As for vitamin C’s effects, a recent survey of 65 years’ worth of studies found limited benefit. The researchers found no evidence that vitamin C prevents colds. However, they did find evidence that vitamin C may shorten how long you suffer from a cold. One large study found that people who took a vitamin C megadose — eight grams on the first day of a cold — shortened the duration of their colds. To prevent colds the natural way, it’s best to make sure you’ve got a wellnourished immune system. Dark greens foods like spinach are loaded with vitamins A and C. Salmon is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which fights inflammation. Low-fat yoghurt may help stimulate the immune system. Regular exercise — aerobics and walking — also boosts the immune system. People who exercise may still catch a virus, but they have less severe symptoms. They may recover more quickly compared with less healthy people.
Should I go to the doctor or get an antibiotic?

You usually don’t need a doctor or an antibiotic when
you have a cold. Colds are caused by viruses. Antibiotics kill bacteria, not viruses. But a cold can turn into a sinus infection. If your sinuses become blocked and cannot drain properly, you can develop inflammation and a bacterial infection. An ear infection may also result from a bout of cold. Although sinus and ear infections can improve on their own, sometimes you need antibiotics to clear the bacterial infections from your body. Symptoms of an ear infection include ear pain, fever, and/or a feeling of fullness in the ears.
Symptoms of a sinus infection include a runny or stuffy nose, facial pain, and pressure, and headache.
Should I stay at home if I have a cold?
You’re contagious for the first few days of your cold, so it’s best to stay home. You need to be careful about coughing and sneezing around other people. Also, you will recover quicker if you get some rest.
How can I prevent a cold?
Wash your hands! Both flu and cold viruses are transmitted the same way — through microscopic droplets from an infected person’s respiratory system. Someone sneezes or coughs, and droplets are sprayed onto any nearby surface — including you! If people cough or sneeze into their hands (without a tissue), they can contaminate every surface they touch. If you touch that same surface, you pick up the virus. If you rub your eyes or nose, you’ve just infected yourself.

Tip: Drink a lot of fluid when you are down with cold

Tip: Speed up your computer

It’s true that when you delete a file from your hard drive, an expert could recover it, provided it hasn’t been overwritten by additional data.

It’s also true that in Windows, recently deleted data is kept track of in the Recycle Bin, which allows you to restore the files to their original state and their original location. The files kept track of by Recycle Bin do take up space — in some cases, a lot of space — and they can potentially slow down your computer by hogging disk space that would otherwise be used by your operating system to perform its best.

If you don’t manually empty the Recycle Bin periodically, over time you could find that deleted data is actually taking up gigabytes worth of space. So your first stop in attempting to free hard drive space should be to empty the Recycle Bin. To do so, right click the Recycle Bin, and from the resulting pop-up menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.

You might also want to explicitly set the size of the recycle bin by right clicking on it and then moving the slider to your needed size. Remember the more empty space on your drives the faster your pcs are.

Ways to reduce the amout of salt you eat

Make your own processed food
You’ll save umpteen milligrams of sodium by making your own sauces and soups, and simmering dried beans until soft (rather than opening a can). Yes, it’s a time commitment, but if you’re serious about salt reduction it’s time well spent. Make these staples more convenient by cooking them in big batches, and freezing them in single-serving portions for later use.

Choose convenience foods wisely
Opt for frozen vegetables when you can’t get them fresh but make sure they don’t contain any sauce। Rinse the food in a colander before using, to get rid of some of the salt. Cut back or eliminate additional salt in a recipe that calls for canned goods.

Don’t add it if you can’t taste it
As a rule, we don’t add salt to boiling water for pasta or potatoes in our kitchens। We prefer to add salt to a dish when its impact will be strongest — usually at the end of cooking. A little salt goes a long way if sprinkled on food just before serving; you’ll taste it in every bite.

Measure, measure
We always use measuring spoons when adding salt to be sure we’re not overdoing it। Even if a recipe calls for a ‘pinch’ or ‘salt to taste,’ measure what you are adding, using a small amount (say, 1/8th teaspoon) at a time and taste as you go.

Distract your palate
Acidic flavours like lemon or lime juice and vinegar can help bring out a dish’s inherent flavours, helping you reduce or even eliminate salt। Or, try a sprinkle of fresh grated lemon zest, chopped fresh or dried herbs — a replacement for salt. They can help ease the transition to lower salt cooking by waking up other flavours. Go with seasoning, found in any spice aisle; just make sure they’re labelled ‘salt-free.’

Boost vegetable flavours naturally
Because many vegetables have flavours our palates perceive as bitter, they tend to be a target for lots of added salt in recipes। Instead of reaching for the saltshaker to counteract bitterness, roast or grill your vegetables to help bring out their own natural sweetness and give them a nice caramelised exterior.

Very Shocking.....

This is a story of a young college girl who passed away last month in Chandigarh. Her name was Priya. She was hit by a truck.

She was working in a call center. She had a boy friend named Shankar. Both of them were true lovers. They always talked on the phone. You used to be never found without her without hand phone. In fact she
also Changed her cell connection from Airtel to Hutch, so that both of them can be on the same network, and save on the cost.

She used to spend half of the day talking with Shankar. Priya's family knew about their relationship. Shankar was very close to Priya's family as well. (Just imagine their love). Before she passed away she always told her friends "If I pass away Please burn me with my hand phone" she also said the same thing to her Parents.

After her death, people couldn't carry her body, A lot of them tried to
do so But still cant everybody had tried to carry the body, the results were
the Same. Eventually, they called a person known to one of their neighbours, who Can speak with the soul of dead person and who was a friend of her father.

He took a stick and started speaking to himself slowly.

After a few minutes, he said "this girl misses something here." Then her
Friends told that person about her intentions to burn her with her
phone. He then opened the grave box and place her phone and sim card inside the Casket. After that they tried to carry the body. It was then moved easily And they then carried her into the van.

All of us were shocked. Priya's parents did not inform Shankar that
Priya had passed away.
After 2 weeks Shankar called Priya's mom.....

Shankar:...."Aunty, I'm coming home today. Cook something nice for me.
Don't tell Priya that I'm coming home today, I wanna surprise her."
Her mother replied..... "You come home first, I wanna tell you something
Very important."
After he came, they told him the truth about Priya.
Shankar thinks That they were playing a fool. He was laughing and said "don't try to fool Me-tell Priya to come out, i have a gift for her. Please stop this Nonsense".

Then they show him the original death certificate to him.
They gave him proof to make him believe. (Shankar started to sweat) He
said... "It's not true. We spoke yesterday. She still calls me.
Shankar was shaking.

Suddenly, Shankar's phone rang. "See this is from Priya, see this...."
He showed the phone to priya's family. All of them told him to answer.
He talked using the loudspeaker mode.

All of them heard his conversation.

Loud and clear, no cross lines, no humming.

It is the actual voice of Priya & there is no way others could use her
sim Card since it is nailed inside the grave box they were so shocked and asked For the same person's (Who can speak with the soul of deal persons) help again. He brought his Master to solve this matter.

He & his master worked for 5 hours.

Then they discovered one thing which really shocked them...

Hutch has the best coverage.

"Where ever you go, our network follows!!!" (hutch's punch line)

Don't shout at me I am also looking for the person who has sent me this what you can should also forward this link to all

How to take amazing sunset pictures

Sunset normally is a fascinating scene, but pretty difficult to take great pictures of the sunset.
Below I will show you some points to consider to convert the normal sunset pictures to amazing sunset pictures.

A clear sky would have made a pretty dull picture adding some buildings and trees enhances the beauty

You need 4 things to take an amazing sunset picture.
1. A sun about to set (give or take 30 min)
2. Camera
3. Clouds or some object like a bridge, tree, building etc
4. Pollution (yes no jokes the red color of the sunset will come from dust pollution)

Point 1. Dont focus the sun, these pictures will be ok but none "WOW", they will be clean but nor impressive.

No pollution makes the sky look so dull, also focus on the sun doesnt make the picture interesting

Point 2. If there are clouds then wait for the sun to set, Colors of the clouds will be amazing after the sun sets, before that it will be mostly white and uninteresting

No clouds makes the sky pretty dull

Point 3. If there are no clouds then focus something in the foreground so that the sun typically hides behind the object, the shadow effect will be amazing.

Clouds make the scene pretty interesting but still additional objects make it even better like the one below

Point 4. Simple Common sense prevails, ie if the sky is more beautiful then you want to draw attention to the sky, else you want to draw attention to the objects.

How people say Sorry..according to their sunsign

The way people apologise and their style of saying sorry depends a lot
on their personality and zodiac traits. No wonder Leos embarrass you
when they say sorry while Arians will actually annoy you with their

Aries: For starters, Arians think they are so sweet, they could not have
possibly said or done things that need an apology. So in the unlikely
possibility of them actually going down their knees to apologise, it
will be a simple sorry.Nothing less, nothing more.

Taurus: They are so scared to face others when they make a mistake that
by the time they resurface to tender an apology, the damage is done. So
Taurans end up making foes out of friends because of their laxity in

Gemini: Geminis think they are infallible and therefore will never
really apologise for anything. But once they realize, they prefer to act
as if nothing happened, and behave normally with people who have a
problem rather than remind others of the incident by tendering an apology.

Cancer: Cancerians will make you feel sorry for demanding one when
they make a mistake. They are the legendary characters that burn hands
and slash their fingers! in order to display the quantum of their
repentance. Their repentance is dangerous.

Leo: Leos are a delightful bunch even when they are trying to make up
for their follies. They will go down their knees, buy flowers, put up
sorry posters.. do everything colorful to flatter you and make up for
their mistakes. In fact it's fun to induce them to make a mistake and let
them apologize for it.

Virgo: Virgos will first formally set aside a time and date and inform
them what they want to tell you. Then they will mentally prepare
themselves to talk out the same things. They will finally draft the
script and read out whatever they want to. In short, even their heartfelt
apologies sound like well-drafted scripts.

Libra: They are very vocal once they realize their folly. They never
ever hesitate to come clean and admit their mistakes. In fact, they will
go out of their way to convince you about how genuinely sorry they are.

Scorpio: Scorpios are formal and think that tendering an apology is
more of a formality. So instead of just saying sorry, they will send a
formal mail or send a card, whatever it takes to avoid direct

Sagittarius: Sagittarians don't believe in being sorry or apologizing.
For them, it is human to err and therefore saying sorry is just
redundant. Interestingly, even if others make mistakes,
they are pretty cool and don't expect much from them.

Capricorn: They can't take a simple sorry. They need
reasons, explanations, written letters and the works to get elicit an 'ok, you may go now'
phrase. They are hard to please and even harder
to appease.

Aquarius: They are sweet, genuine and innovative when they think they
are wrong and need to undo the damage.Aquarians are easy on their
mistakes and don't take too much time to do
their sorrying.

Pisces: Pisceans don't easily give in because they believe that
everything is about perspective. So if somebody thinks they made a mistake! ,
it's because they have a wonky perspective. Pisceans and apologies? No
