Pimple gurav Garden, Pune / PCMC
This weeks visit was to the Pimple Gurav Udyan, Pune / PCMC. The Pimple Gurav garden, pune is pretty huge and was very clean and well maintained as the gardens of PCMC are usually. On entry is a fountain that welcomes you.
On the left is a large play area. Next to the play area is a big waterfall (under development).
As the waterfall is still not operational kids are using it for rock climbing suggesting the potential for a rock climbing activity. There are a couple of bridges to cross the "future" water flowing out from the waterfall. There are a couple of "resting" places should rain fall. There is a bamboo plantation in the center which makes an artificial wall separating 2 lawn.
The greenery is awesome and the shrubs are well maintained.
There is a big jogging track which goes around the complete park. This walking / jogging track is filled with "muram" broken bricks powder which has a distinct red color making your footwear reddish.
The spacious internal walking work was extremely clean and laced with interlocking tiles.
The play area has pretty interesting variations of slides for kids. The entry to the park is free in the morning and has a small charge in the evenings for all.
Since the garden is huge the sunset and the silhouette appears great.
Its also a nice place to view the moonrise.
Crowd factor: Monday to Saturdays is great, Sunday it gets a bit crowded.
So where is the Pimple Gurav Garden?: Map it Wikimapia
Entry: Rs 2 for adults and Re 1 for kids (under 12)
Facilities: Play area, lawns, fountain, rest rooms, drinking water fountains, jogging track
Parking: Parking is free and right near the entrance in a designated parking spot. parking on the road is also allowed.
